Description of project

The Nestree House used the concept of bird nest and tree house and that is how it get its name. The Nestree House is designed to locate it at a location with a lot of trees such as jungle and beach. The Nestree House have 2800mm height and 4000mm length. The bird nest is a living place for birds, instead of bird living in the nest, human live there.This is why I choose this concept. Almost all the materials use to construct this Nestree House is wood(timber). Type of timber use must be suitable and easy to construct. In the Nestree House there are 1 bathroom and 1 bedroom. This shelter is designed for 1 person purpose and for those who love to live in places with a lot of trees. The reason why the Nestree House is on top off the trees is because to build building such as house, shopping malls and shop lots, we need to cut down trees. Therefore to do not cut down the trees, we build it on the trees. Therefore this shelter is eco-friendly and there are 2 big windows, 1 small windows and 1 fixed window to allowed the transmission of light(sunlight) and wind(ventilation).

Description of the chair

Explanation of the chair

This design chair used the concept of egg which the egg was broken into half. The egg chair is a massage chair and it also design for user to take nap and for those who love massage. When user want to take nap, the mattress which looks like the inner part of egg is pull out. Therefore the chair will be longer and user can lay their leg there. The mattress has thickness of 40mm. This chair is design to be place at the living room when user can enjoy watching movies while having a massage.

The structure of the chair is 900mm height, 500mm width and 1200mm length. The massage egg chair has the combination of motors, roller, gears and vibrating mechanisms. The rollers will acts like human’s hands and it moves in a circle while the electric motor provides the energy for the rollers. User can adjust the speed of the roller from slow to fast or medium by pressing the buttons at the right side of the chair. The red button is for off or slows while the yellow button is for medium speed and the green button is for on or fast. The outer part of the chair is black which made up of plywood and the inner part is made up of fabric. The egg chair can help reducing space during moves by keeping the mattress in the egg.

Idea to work on the dome soon

The reason I redo this assignment is because I hand out 3 papers which only require 2. I dont mind redoing it until I am satisfied which I am now because is definitely better than the previous one. The explanation of sketches and concept on work in the dome soon is still the same but the drawing was different.

This is the most difficult part because I'm not that good in watercolour. I redo it more than 3 times to make it perfect but end result was a bit satisfied.

Explanation of my sketches

An idea usually refers to a person's thought or a developed concept. To develop an idea someone must have the intention. Ideas are the outcome of the person thought and intention. Dome, what idea to work on the dome? The dome is roughly about 2 storeys. The struts were connected to each other using bolt and nut to form a dome. My idea was to build a dome park which consists of flora and fauna. Why Dome Park? Why not cafe or study place? A beautiful view while eating or having a tea, nice view while studying but what’s the point instead we enjoy the view more than study. In the Dome Park we have different type of birds, fish, plants, etc. We can learn and understand how the habitats live. The reason I choose to build a Dome Park in the dome because I realize not only me but most of my generation people do not know much about species that are same kind. Example birds itself have different type of kind such as canary, lovebirds, parrot (African Grey Parrot, Amazon Parrot). Dome Park in USM can attract students from different school to visit the dome and learn more about flora and fauna.

Those all are my sketches, some is a practices from the previous assignments such as hatching, perspectives, etc.
After practices with pencil I try using pen.
I find it interesting and I feel more confident in my drawings.
With pen I do not need to worry of mistakes just draw follow your heart
besides that it is neat too compared to pencils
